NEW DELHI, INDIA – November 24, 2014—The Times Group, Federal Bank, and Dun & Bradstreet (D&B) have an annual awards initiative to recognise and felicitate SMEs who have demonstrated exemplary performance in their respective fields. Chennai-based Gislen Software was selected as an Award Winner in the SME Segment for excellence in the IT and IT-enabled services sector.
The awards felicitated 27 of India’s leading Small and medium enterprises for their significant achievements and contributions over the years. These 27 awardees, representing various SME sectors, were shortlisted from 100,000 companies contacted and 4,000 nominated. Gislen Software was one of three companies from the IT & IT-enabled services sector.
The award was presented at a grand ceremony at the Hyatt Regency in New Delhi, attended by eminent business leaders and senior government officials, including Shri Jayant Sinha, Minister of State for Finance, Government of India. The awards event was accompanied by the release of the publication “Leading SMEs of India 2014.” The publication profiles leading SMEs and mid-corporates, including the award winners.
The award was presented to Gislen Software by Shri Jayant Sinha, Honourable Minister of State, Ministry of Finance, Government of India, Mr Abraham Chacko, Executive Director, Federal Bank Limited and Mr Kaushal Sampat, President & CEO – India, Dun & Bradstreet.
Ms Vanitha Venugopal, Head of Software Development at Gislen Software, who received the award on behalf of Gislen Software, said, “It is a great honour for me to accept this award on behalf of Gislen Software. As a result, we have experienced exceptionally low employee turnover and have successfully retained our existing clients while adding new ones one after the other.
She finalised, “We humbly recognise that we have only reached this far due to the enormous effort of our staff and the trust and faith our clients have put in our company. We see this award as a milestone to strive even more to lead and serve our clients, our employees and society even better in the coming years.”

The ‘D&B SME Awards 2014’ is a tribute to the leading small and medium enterprises for their significant achievement and notable performance over the years. A total of 27 awards were given across various sectors. D&B used a proprietary model to shortlist the nominations based on multiple qualitative and quantitative parameters. Based on the computation of composite scores, the award winners were decided by a Jury comprising industry experts and eminent professionals from the relevant industry.
