Outsourcing to India

Every customer is different, so we are flexible about how we work. We can deliver a turnkey solution – we are happy to manage a project for you – or you may work directly with our software engineers. Alternatively, we can be your virtual development department.

We asked our customers what challenges they face when they outsource IT services. They told us that the main challenges are the cultural differences and the difficulties of unclear IT requirements and differing expectations. We therefore provide cultural training for all of our employees and we have a special focus on defining requirements with our customer at the start of each project.

For example, we have found, from our experience, that our customers’ written requirements are often based upon assumptions which do not need to be explained in their own business environment and culture. Gislen is different to other Indian software development companies, in that when we examine a customer’s requirement, we look for these ambiguities and we take them very seriously. Over the years, we have developed a strategy to work with our customers to deal with these differences, so that we can be absolutely sure that we have a full understanding of what is needed. We often discover these tacit requirements when we start to discuss the details of the project with our customer.

We are flexible about technology and methodology, and for each project, we select the appropriate internal quality process to ensure that we deliver work to the best possible standard. We want to ensure that our clients can track their requirements and that we progress together in a systematic, well managed way, with open, two-way communications.

Our QA team is central to our success. We monitor our processes to ensure that our work always meets requirements and is of high quality, to meet our customers’ needs. We are continually looking for ways to improve quality as part of our customer centric approach as well as for ISO 9001 certification. On several occasions no bugs have been found in our deliveries during acceptance tests.

We have developed our own Planner Suite product which is a software tool to manage the timeline of the project and control the ongoing costs and expenses.

We may also work with other partners in Chennai to provide additional software services and professional graphic design services.
